She's baaack!

So, my first post in a very very long time....and so much has happened that I can't even begin to cover it! Short version - got screwed by payless, went through giant drama with manly, grew up a ton, more giant drama with a few people in the family, lost my grandfather, working for target (seasonally) and a credit repair law firm (super cool), and I (hopefully) get to visit Italy in January or February when manly goes for work...we'll see. So that's the short version and I'll hopefully post more often! Oh, and since I'm posting from my phone (got rid of the iPhone, now I have an HTC evo!) I'll put in updated pictures soon!

randomly random updates. just like me.

I'm back! Well, kind of. I thought I'd post something...since I haven't since January! Scandalous! So, stuff that's happened - I got sent to run the Gateway Mall store for two months (good times), I went to New York City and played a concert in Carnegie Hall (amazing), my foot is STILL swollen from surgery, but I'm into heels now(!), hm...I spent a week at one of our stores in Layton (a week. yeah. it was cool though.), and now I'm in Brigham City (hard work but worth it!) I go to the gym a lot, since there's one on the way home from the store, and I got an iPhone, which I love love love! I haven't tried posting from it, but I will one day, I swear it! That's the short version of everything. If something else exciting happens I'll be sure to actually do an actual post on it!

because I have a lump for a foot

So I haven't posted in a while. Sorry about that!!! I just had surgery. Bunion surgery. It was actually ok. I got waited on hand and foot and got wheeled to the bathroom and brought yummy food and watched way too many movies and lots of stuff! It's true that my foot looks like a lump and there's practically a hole in my arm where they had the iv that wasn't hooked up to anything...for three days, but that's ok. It's all good, yo! Time to hobble out and do laundry!

moaning about work

so, I work at payless. go me. normally, it's a good time. I get along with all my co-workers (except for that one kid who just didn't show up one day and then called his former best friend who put her reputation out for him to get him the job and let her know he'd moved to vegas...but I won't get into that) I like shoes, I like helping people. here's the problem: when the people I'm being all sorts of cheerful to are grumpy at me. sometimes they're downright rude! we're not pushy, just like to make sure we're helpin, and numerous times have had people say things like "back off" and "just leave me alone". we're only there to help, people, there's no need to snap at us, ok? we don't have to help, we could just let you wander about desolately in a foreign land of shoes without any guidance or assistance. ok, I've said my piece.

oh, no I haven't - to people who come in the store 5 minutes before we close and make a mess: STOP IT! we like to be out of there by a half hour after the gate closes, and if you come in and make a mess, we get out late, and no one likes getting off work late, do they? I don't come in to your place of business 5 minutes before you're supposed to leave and trash your office/cubicle/whatever, so don't come into mine, mmmmk?

NOW I'm done. thanks for listening to my venting! (reading my venting? hm...)

drama drama drama...

so, I'm going to Carnegie Hall in April with the wind ensemble. HOORAY, right? right. only sometimes though. here's my story - we're having our first rehearsals this week, yesterday, tomorrow, and friday, just to get our music started, and then we'll really get into it in january. so I go into the band room yesterday and ask one of the girls where our illustrious (read: annoying and big-headed) section leader was. what does she say but "oh, didn't you hear? he's being deployed to iraq in february so he can't go, so you're our new section leader!" then they start passing out music and I'm supposed to be assigning parts to kids whose strengths I don't know and the good doctor starts to get mad that I'm trying to get info about them first...ay! he's like "can't you do this without talking?" ummm....no. not at all. I need to talk to them to talk to them, make sense? (I, of course, said none of this out loud, being vaguely smart-ish) anyway, so we got through the day ok, now I have CDs of the songs we're playing (super awesome, amazing songs) and I brought all the music home to assign parts to everyone...whose names I don't remember...oh well, I remember what they look like and what they do, we'll do good tomorrow. yay us! I'm done venting for now, I promise!

oh, and I thought I'd explain about the last post's title: "just because I have a red kitchen doesn't mean I'm a communist" - I was telling manly that I was going to put a picture of our awesome kitchen up somewhere and he (jokingly) said, "but you can't do that, people will think we're communist!" so...that title was just for him!

just because I have a red kitchen doesn't mean I'm a communist.

haha! I have a red kitchen!!! I love it. manly painted it yesterday and he did such a good job!!!! I love him!! I'm gonna put a picture up, when I get it figured out...ah, there it is. so, two and a half walls are red, the others are white with white crown moldings. woo! lovin it. we want to paint the hallway too, but can't decide what color it should be. daisy yellow? maybe. I'll put up a picture of that when it happens. out!

THE FIRST POST. SERIOUSLY.

Ok, so...the first blog. Exciting, isn't it? Well...not really. I've resisted setting one up before now on the basis that I have a boring life - I go to work, come home, walk the dog, watch a show online, but yet...here I am writing one. I suppose it'll be nice to ramble occasionally. Manly will appreciate it, I'm guessing, since I do so at him every day! Anyway, enough for now, I'll actually post real things another day!
